Jeff-davis-plan-mapTwo community workshops are planned this month to gather community input for the Northern Jefferson Davis Corridor Special Area Plan. People who live and work in the area – the stretch of land along U.S. Route 1, between the James River and the CSX railroad line, from the city of Richmond to Old Bermuda Hundred Road – are encouraged to attend the workshops.

The workshops are the initial steps of a 20-month process to develop the plan, which will provide guidance on how to enhance the corridor. Planning staff need community input to ensure this vision reflects community values and desires.

Once adopted, the special area plan will become part of the county’s comprehensive plan.

Workshops are set for Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Bensley Community Center located at 2900 Drewry’s Bluff Rd. and Thursday, Oct. 22, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Bellwood Elementary School located at 9536 Dawnshire Rd.
