It was the North versus the South in the Chesterfield Quarterback League Super Bowl 2015 play at the Ted Salmon Stadium 360 Athletic Complex off Hull Street Road. The three brackets, Minors, Juniors and Seniors, played their hearts out, and mostly, the South ruled with the Juniors and Seniors bringing home the trophy.

The Minors, National Conference Champions Matoaca Indians (26-13) versus National Conference Champions Spring Run (33-6) played strong defense on the field keeping the game scoreless until the final six minutes of the game when Spring Run’s Kyle Charlton, rushed over the goal line. They missed the point after but held on and brought home the trophy with a 6-0 win.

American Conference Champions Salem Church Cowboys Juniors (6-0) scored three touchdowns against and held the Midlothian Mustangs (American Conference Champions) scoreless. The Cowboys won the Junior’s Super Bowl, 18-0. Within the first minute of the game Cowboys’ Gabriel Bell-Mosley sailed over the goal line scoring the first touchdown. Darryl Edmonds, Jr. followed with a touchdown in the third quarter. Mac Grant, III scored a third touchdown in the third quarter giving the Cowboys a solid lead. There was no stopping the Cowboys with their goal to bring home the trophy and as one of their coaches said during the victory speech: “We rule Chesterfield County.”

American Conference Champions Scott Scorpions Seniors (12-0) defeated the American Conference Champions Robious Bucs (8-6) with a final score 8-0. It was an emotional win for the team as well as the coaches. With tears welling up, head coach C. H. Faber, Jr., proud of his team for their hard work, said it best was receiving the 50-year-old trophy: “I have been on teams with plenty of wins and championship teams but nothing is sweeter than this one.” David Daniels, scored the sole touchdown with William Henderson kicking the extra point (two-points in CQL.)
