UNC guard and former L.C. Bird basketball star Kenny Williams underwent surgery last Thursday for a torn meniscus.
The surgery came just three days after UNC lost in the National Championship to Villanova, a game in which Williams did not play.
The sharpshooter averaged 4.1 minutes per game and scored 23 points on the year including a three pointer against Pittsburgh in the ACC Tournament.
Williams will be out 6-8 weeks, but will return in time for preseason practices, looking to work himself into a larger role next year.
