Chester Family YMCA Names New Executive Director

Jamal_Chester-Y-ExecutiveThe YMCA of Greater Richmond announces that Jamal Riley is the new Executive Director of the Chester Family YMCA. In this role, he will be responsible for leading the Chester Y’s philanthropic initiatives, volunteer and board development efforts and community partnerships. He succeeds Chris Hughes who is assuming the role of Vice President of Operations for the association.

Riley is a veteran of the Y with 11 years of experience with the nonprofit, and 20 years community engagement experience. He most recently served as Executive Director of the Monsanto Family YMCA in Saint Louis, Mo. In that role, he helped manage a $2 million budget, provided managerial leadership and supervision to staff and board, as well as increased both overall revenue and membership.

Riley says he is eager to step into his new role at the Chester Y and looks forward to bringing his knowledge and skill-set to the community.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for me. The Chester Y is a beautiful facility and plays such an important role in the health and growth of the community. I look forward to working with members, staff and community leaders to increase the Y’s ability to assist those individuals and families who need our services most.”
