APRIL 26 •presents the 3rd Annual Appomattox RiverFest with co-sponsor Fort Lee bringing exciting new outdoor activities. This day-long family event is for nature lovers, birders, history buffs, outdoor enthusiast, and everyone who wants to spend a beautiful day outdoors enjoying the scenic and historic treasures of the Appomattox River. Appomattox Riverside Park, 24909 Ferndale Road, Petersburg VA 23803 – at the rocky rapids where Dinwiddie, Petersburg and Chesterfield meet. The event is free and open to the public. APRIL 29 • SEED TO SALE – Annual Henricus Plant Sale – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Henricus Historical Park is pleased to offer heirloom plant varieties for your home garden. Vegetable, herb, and fruit seedlings will be for sale with all proceeds benefiting the Henricus Education Fund. Your purchase supports the development of new agricultural programs involving Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM Education). Specific information on plants to be sold will be made available on our website closer to the date of the program. 251 Henricus Park Rd.

MEDICATION TAKE-BACK – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ettrick Elementary School, 20910 Chesterfield Ave. Police, DEA agents and volunteers will be on hand to collect unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications. Residents should leave medications in their original containers.

CHESTER FARMERS MARKET – 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Chester Village Green.

SPRING INTO MUSIC – 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Chester Library. CCPL partners with the Chesterfield Cultural Arts Foundation to offer free, family-friendly concerts and educational music programs. Festival Belles will perform at the library.

MAY 02 • CCPL CHESS CLUB – 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Meadowdale Library. Learn to play the beautiful game of chess in a relaxed, stress-free environment. Join our club and meet others who enjoy the game. All ages are welcome.
