Chesterfield Career and Technical Center students, from left, Adam Riveland (Matoaca High School), Ryan Masi (Thomas Dale High School), and Gabriel Martinez Rocha (Thomas Dale High School) recently met with Dominion Energy mentors as part of the Get Into Energy Challenge. The challenge includes working with Dominion Energy mentors on innovative energy projects such as portable solar panels and smart street lights. The students have been working on their projects since February. They meet with their mentors every week, and will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges at the Science Museum of Virginia on April 16. Hosted by the Virginia Chamber Foundation and the Virginia Energy Workforce Consortium, the Get Into Energy challenge gives students a real-world career development opportunity and exposes them to jobs in the energy industry.
