The Chesterfield Little League 8-10 year old softball team fell short of making the final of a regional tournament in Clarksville, Tenn., this past weekend despite a 2-1 record in pool play.
Over the weekend, Chesterfield defeated West Virginia 8-2 and Georgia 4-3, but lost to eventual champion Unicoi, Tenn., 4-3.
The journey to the tournament was a long one, as Chesterfield won the Little League Softball District 5 and Virginia state tournaments to earn a place in the Tournament of State Champions.
