Two adults and two children escaped a fast spreading fire July 17 in the 6800 block of Autumn Point Drive.

It all began around 9:08 a.m. Flames could be seen coming from the roof of the home. Residents evacuated while firefighters were on the way. All occupants were able to escape safely.

Fire and medical personnel from Dale, Centralia, Bensley, Buford, and Airport fire stations, along with three fire marshals, two battalion chiefs and a tactical safety officer along with county police, responded.

The fire was declared under control at 9:56 a.m.

Captain Joe Harvey, Deputy Fire Marshal, NREMT-P, Chesterfield Fire and EMS said, “Because of the heat and humidity crews had to take a little extra time to rehab after the fire was under control. Fresh crews were brought in to help at the scene with packing up fire hose.”

Captain Harvey said the fire is under investigation.
