One hurt in Chesterfield house fire, five displaced

One juvenile was injured and five occupants displaced when fire ripped through a residence at the 2030 block of Willis Road, July 6.

A large column of smoke rising in the air greeted responding crews.

Captain Joe Harvey,Deputy Fire Marshal, NREMT-P of Chesterfield Fire and EMS said the scene upon arrival was heavy fire showing from a two story single family dwelling.

The occupants self-evacuated while rescuers were en route.

A juvenile, one of the occupants from the residence, suffered smoke inhalation,was treated on scene and not transported, Captain Harvey said.

The fire was marked under control at 7:18 p.m.

A total of two adults and three juveniles were displaced,Captain Harvey said.

The cause is under investigation.

Units that responded were from Centralia, Bensley, Dutch Gap, Harrowgate, and Chester fire stations.
