Brycen Blaine is a guard for L.C. Bird boys basketball. Moreso, Blaine is yet another Skyhawk that seemed destined to play college basketball. This past week, he was offered by Livingstone College.
“The sky’s the limit for Bryce,” said L.C. Bird coach Troy Manns. “He’s a fun young man to be around because of his competitive nature. He works hard and should have a really good season this year.”
Blaine was a force for L.C. Bird all season long in what was a balanced attack of youthful players. With just one senior on the roster in Tyler Henderson, Blaine was part of a bevy of sophomores and freshman that contributed, earning the Skyhawks 17 wins and falling just a win short of a region tournament berth.
Perhaps Blaine’s most shining moment was in the postseason against Glen Allen when the sophomore hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to sink the Jaguars 62-60.
The rising junior is a part of a core of players that have already received offers. Keyontae Lewis has multiple offers, including D-1 Bryant. Wing Arbriel Wingfield was also offered by Bryant, and rising senior guard Promyse Ferguson was offered by Division II Bluefield State.
