Haley Ford held a Grand Re-Opening Event last weekend during normal business hours to celebrate the renovation and upgrades to their showroom, service department and customer service lounge at 10724 Jefferson Davis Highway. This event was complete with music, food, drinks, bouncy house fun for the kids, a classic car show, a wide variety of pre-owned vehicles and, of course, brand new Fords. The renovation to the Haley Ford store (located at its original location on Jefferson Davis Highway) took about 10 months. The folks at Shoosmith landfill are applying for DEQ permission to use the Tarmac rock quarry, once it is completely used up, for additional space to add to their landfill. The quarry could be nonfunctional in a few years once the company takes the last bit of stone they can economically haul out of there. At that point it will make sense, according to Fletcher Kelly, president of Shoosmith to use the quarry for addition fill space. James River Industrial Park officially opened last month with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  James River Contractor will be the first occupant in the 5,000 square foot center that will cater to general contractors and small businesses needing office space. Participating in the ribbon cutting were from left Charlie Hughes, Will Davis, retiring Chesterfield County Economic Development Director, Chesterfield County Board of Supervisor Chairman Steve Elswick, Debbie R. Hughes, co-owner, Russell  Hughes, co-owner, Chesterfield County Board of Supervisor Bermuda Representative Dorothy Jaeckle and Kendall Silva.

Honeywell Resins and Chemicals last week announced that it has broken ground on its new nylon resins production line at its Chesterfield manufacturing facility on Bermuda Hundred Road, according to Healthcare Packaging Magazine. The state-of-the-art production line will be the only North American source of key food packaging resins. The new production line can produce multiple grades of Honeywell Aegis® nylon 6 resins, as well as copolymer nylon 6/6.6 resins, both of which are used in food packaging films and other applications.
