The first morning class of 2016 for Chesterfield popular Community Emergency Response Team, or CERT, training is scheduled to begin April 5. The classes will be held each Tuesday morning over eight consecutive weeks, 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m., at Woodlake Swim and Racquet Club. Topics include light-duty search and rescue, fire safety and suppression, basic and advanced emergency care, terrorism awareness, emergency communications and disaster psychology. Bermuda Baptist Church will hold an Easter Sunrise Service on the bluff at Henricus Park, located at 251 Henricus Park Rd., Chester Va 23836. The service will take place on March 27 @ 7 a.m. There will be light refreshments, after the service. In the event of rain, there will not be an alternative location. If it rains, there will be an 11 a.m. service at Bermuda Baptist.
In partnership with Richmond’s Quill Theater, Henricus Historical Park will host Shakespeare at Henricus on the evening of Saturday, April 16. Commemorating the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) will be held at the outdoor site of the Citie of Henricus. The Woman’s Club of Chester will be holding its annual Fashion Show and Luncheon on Saturday, April 9, at 11 a.m., at the Chester Baptist Church located at 4317 School St. This year’s theme is Travel into Spring. A hot lunch will be served, and there will be door prizes and raffles. The beautiful fashions will be provided by Peebles Department Store.
