Auditions for Senior Idol (Seniors Got Talent) of Chesterfield, Greater Richmond and Tri-Cities areas are being held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 in the Community Room of Lucy Corr Village, 6800 Lucy Corr Blvd. Registrations will be taken at the door. The first morning class of 2016 for Chesterfield popular Community Emergency Response Team, or CERT, training is scheduled to begin April 5. The classes will be held each Tuesday morning over eight consecutive weeks, 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m., at Woodlake Swim and Racquet Club. Topics include light-duty search and rescue, fire safety and suppression, basic and advanced emergency care, terrorism awareness, emergency communications and disaster psychology. Bermuda Baptist Church will hold an Easter Sunrise Service on the bluff at Henricus Park, located at 251 Henricus Park Rd., Chester Va 23836. The service will take place on March 27 @ 7 a.m. There will be light refreshments, after the service. In the event of rain, there will not be an alternative location. If it rains, there will be an 11 a.m. service at Bermuda Baptist.

In partnership with Richmond’s Quill Theater, Henricus Historical Park will host Shakespeare at Henricus on the evening of Saturday, April 16. Commemorating the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) will be held at the outdoor site of the Citie of Henricus. After the theatre, guests will be treated to a period dinner, followed by music and dancing inside the Colonial buildings. Tickets are $75. The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV) will present a lecture at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,March 19 at the County Museum, 6813 Mimms Loop, in Chesterfield. The Woman’s Club of Chester will be holding its annual Fashion Show and Luncheon on Saturday, April 9, at 11 a.m., at the Chester Baptist Church located at 4317 School St. This year’s theme is Travel into Spring. A hot lunch will be served, and there will be door prizes and raffles. The beautiful fashions will be provided by Peebles Department Store. Proceeds will be used to support scholarships at three local high schools. Tickets are $20 and available by calling 748-7695.
