The document represents the combined efforts of FOLAR and two consulting design companies – Land Planning & Design Associates and AB Design – along with significant input from regional stakeholders and the public. Chesterfield County is offering a hands-on approach for citizens to learn about local government and tour county facilities. Registration is open for the new Government Citizens Academy, which begins next month. EARTH DAY APRIL 22  Earth Day celebration at Beulah Pool Join Beulah Pool as they do their part to keep our Earth healthy. This year’s Chester Rotary “Grillin’ on the Green, A Taste of Chester” will include a sauce competition along with the traditional BBQ competition and the “Taste of Chester” People’s Choice Awards. Similar to the BBQ competition, sauce competitors will be awarded first and second place trophies in four categories; best in Tomato Base-Mild, Tomato Base-Spicy, Mustard Base, and Vinegar Base sauces. A 2011 survey conducted by the ING Foundation showed that next to immediate family, teachers had the most impact on a person’s life as they grow up. According to the results, 88 percent of Americans had a teacher who positively impacted their life and 83 percent had a teacher who helped build their self-esteem and confidence.
