Ashby offered by James Madison It was a good week for the L.C. Bird linebacker, Rayshard Ashby. Fresh off a Conference 12 Defensive Player of the Year award, he also picked up his third college offer – this one from James Madison University. In the regular season, Ashby totaled 87 tackles, 16 for losses while wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks with 10.5 sacks. In outer space, explosions give birth to stars. L.C. Bird’s reemergence into the volleyball scene started in 2013 with the first-ever Conference 12 championship. Lache Harper was just a role player. Bird team leader and spark plug Taylor McNeely reached a career milestone during their loss to Mills Godwin in the 5A South Region tournament- she tallied her 1,000th career dig and set a school record.
