Route 10 widening project to include gas line relocation
0A Route 10 widening project slated to run from May through mid-October will include relocation of some natural gas lines. A press release from Columbia Gas notes that the widening will run east of Interstate 95 from Bermuda Triangle Road to Meadowville Road. Columbia Gas work crews will be on site between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. In some instances, overnight work may be conducted to minimize traffic impacts. The utility company plans to install 17,000 feet of new natural gas lines along both sides of Route 10 in the right-of-way.

0A South Hill native and Longwood University graduate is moving up in the world. Lauren Wood recently replaced David Potter as supervisor at Bensley Recreation Center. Suit over championship football poster dismissed
0A civil lawsuit against the principal of L.C. Bird High School and several Chesterfield County Public Schools officials over a misidentified player on a 2012 championship football team poster has been dismissed. In a May 1 letter to the parties, Richmond General District Court Judge L.B. Cann III said that plaintiff David Shurland missed the filing deadline for his claim of emotional distress in which he asked for $25,000 in damages. 0Winter has finally given way to spring. As happy as I am that temperatures have risen, there are many things that we must keep in mind with this change. Outdoor activities are increasing, which means our awareness must go up for what could injure us.
