CCPL Restores Thursday Hours Beginning September 8

CHESTERFIELD – Chesterfield County Public Library (CCPL) will reopen all library locations on Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. The new schedule will begin on Thursday, Sept. 8. For more information or to locate the nearest library, call 804-751-CCPL or visit library.chesterfield.gov.

CHESTERFIELD – Online registration is open for the annual James River Regional Cleanup scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Now in its 17th year, the cleanup is a tremendous regional effort in which volunteers remove hundreds of bags of trash and recyclable materials from the James and its tributaries. The cleanup is open to individuals, families, groups, boaters and paddlers. Volunteers select from 17 different cleanup sites throughout the James River watershed. Some sites have already reached capacity, and registration has been closed at Richmond’s Great Shiplock Park, Pony Pasture Rapids and Reedy Creek and Lynchburg’s Percival’s Island.…

Public Meeting to Gather Input on Draft Appomattox River Trails on September 19

PETERSBURG – Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR) is hosting a second public meeting to present recommendations for trail routes, amenities, and logo branding, and to receive public comment for the purpose of developing two regional planning documents that will guide FOLAR in linking and enhancing the parks and trails along the Appomattox River. Second Baptist event helps students with back-to-school

CHESTER – Down to the last few days of summer vacation, parents are making preparations for their children going back to school Tuesday, Sept. 6. The community has offered several back-to-school events with free school supplies to help families that may be struggling to complete their extensive school supply lists. Second Baptist Church at 5100 W.
