The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program is asking for your help this week to solve a shooting case. On the evening of Friday, March 13, a resident in the 5600 block of Handel Court threw a party that lasted into the early morning hours. As the party was winding down, a small group of males came to the party and caused problems for the rest of the party-goers. Normally I try to write proactive articles about things that may have happened in the past, but had not happened prior to the writing of my article, hoping to prevent something from occurring. This article is completely reactive to something that happened to my wife and I. My wife had a benign tumor removed from her parotid gland, on the right side of her neck. The Woman’s Club of Chester held its year-end luncheon meeting at the Half Way House and installed new officers for the 2015-2016 year. Chester Community Association gives support to TDHS JROTC

Over the years, the Chester Community Association (CCA) and Thomas Dale JROTC have fostered a relationship through their efforts in the Chester community. The JROTC teams with CCA volunteers to present ChesterFest every year. Chester has come a long way since 1856 when Joseph Snead and Charles Stebbins first began building-up the Chester area as a desirable place to live and get away from the heat of the City of Richmond. Three-Day Fish School at Virginia State

With a focus on “Aqua-Foods Production for the Individual”, Virginia State University’s three-day Fish School begins Wednesday, July 8, and runs through Friday, July 10.  Free and open to the public, the school is designed for anyone interested in growing freshwater fish or shrimp for fun or profit.
