On Saturday, Nov. 21, Bermuda Baptist Church, located at 13912 Jefferson Davis Hwy, will be serving a free community Thanksgiving Dinner. The dinner will be served from 1-3 p.m., and there will also be grocery items given out, to anyone that needs them. Everyone is welcome.

Henricus Historical Park hosted the inaugural Hops in the Park Harvest Festival last Saturday. With approximately 3,500 attendees and proceeds going to support the children’s education fund at Henricus and the Old Dominion Hops Cooperative. The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood to help ensure a sufficient blood supply throughout the holiday season. A Blood Drive will take place November 21 at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chester YMCA at 3011 W. Hundred Road. A seasonal decline in donations often occurs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day when donors get busy with family gatherings and travel. However, patients do not get a holiday vacation from needing lifesaving transfusions. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
