On Saturday, Nov. 21, Bermuda Baptist Church, located at 13912 Jefferson Davis Hwy, will be serving a free community Thanksgiving Dinner. The dinner will be served from 1-3 p.m., and there will also be grocery items given out, to anyone that needs them. Everyone is welcome.

E. Pettersen is a dynamic contemporary Christian artist who has been involved in Christian music since the age of seventeen. He is currently performing in churches throughout Virginia and surrounding states. Mr. Pettersen will be performing at New Hope Baptist Church, 6030 Woodpecker Road in Chesterfield on Saturday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and refreshments will be served following. Henricus Historical Park hosted the inaugural Hops in the Park Harvest Festival last Saturday. With approximately 3,500 attendees and proceeds going to support the children’s education fund at Henricus and the Old Dominion Hops Cooperative. Organizers and festival goers are calling this harvest festival a great success. “The inaugural event featured over 30 Virginia-produced drinks made by over 15 different Virginia-based breweries, cideries, meaderies, and wineries across the region.” said Henricus Executive Director Charlie Grant. “Additionally, ten vendors from the Virginia Grown Farmer’s Market showcased their goods and some of Richmond’s favorite food trucks peddled their best offerings. The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood to help ensure a sufficient blood supply throughout the holiday season. A Blood Drive will take place November 21 at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chester YMCA at 3011 W. Hundred Road. A seasonal decline in donations often occurs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day when donors get busy with family gatherings and travel. However, patients do not get a holiday vacation from needing lifesaving transfusions. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
