To the Editor:
On Sunday, July 19, my husband, Ray, was cutting grass in the ditch in front of our house when he had a heart attack. Someone passing by saw him lying in the ditch and called 911. They did not leave a name, but I want that person/persons to know how much I appreciate them taking time to care. I am sure others rode by without doing anything because Harrowgate Road is a busy road.

Whoever called that day saved his life and I just want to say thank you. Thank you doesn’t really say enough. When the EMT’s arrived, they said he was barely breathing. He had to have by-pass surgery, but thanks to the people who called 911, I still have my husband of 54 years with me. I am forever grateful to them and since I do not know who it was that called, writing this letter is the only way I could think of to thank them. Even if they do not take the paper, maybe someone they know will see this letter and tell them.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I know God will bless you for your kindness.
