The property is 0.6 acres and is located in the southwest corner of Fountain Square Plaza and Chester Village Drive. Now, after a lot of discussion over what type of building should replace it, a final plan for the building has been approved. Two groups on opposite sides of a contentious issue made their opinions known at last week’s Chesterfield Board of Supervisors (BOS) meeting. The issue was whether or not the county should adopt “Bikeways & Trails” a new chapter of “Moving Forward…The Comprehensive Plan for Chesterfield County.” The BOS voted 3-2 in favor of adopting the chapter. Comments made by citizens during the meeting equaled 61 with 45 asking for approval and 16 asking that the planning chapter not be approved. While some results of last week’s election were expected, such as contests with unopposed candidates, others were not. Here is a rundown of the results in southeastern Chesterfield: Board of Supervisors in the Bermuda and Matoaca districts did not have opponents. Dorothy Jaeckle and Steven Elswick received 8,151 and 11,622 votes respectively. In the Dale District race Jim Holland won over Cliff Bickford by 2,032 votes (6,303 to 4,270 respectively) .
