The Chesterfield County Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded late Friday, July 17, at 11:52 p.m., to the 10300 block of Elokomin Ave for the report of a house fire. Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from a window on the side of the house. It took crews approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control. Fire damage was contained to one room of the house, but the house did sustain smoke damage throughout. One occupant was pulled out of a ground floor window by a responding police officer prior to the fire department’s arrival.…

Crime Solvers needs your help with solving a grand larceny case. On July 9, a man broke into the King Deli located at 6101 Belmont Rd. In order to gain access to the store, he shattered the front door glass with a garden timber. Once inside the store, the thief stole over 40 packages of cigarettes and tobacco products. The suspect is described as a younger black male, possibly in his late teens or early twenties. He stands about 5’ 7” tall with a thin build. The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program is asking for your help this week to solve an armed robbery. On the evening of Wednesday, March 11, a middle-aged black male approached the clerk of the Econo Lodge at 2310 Indian Hill Road. He asked the clerk for the cost of getting a room. The clerk answered, and the suspect appeared to be reaching into a bag to retrieve money. Police are searching for a man who robbed the East Coast at 13200 Kingston Ave.Police said the suspect entered the business, approached the clerk and demanded cash. After receiving cash, the suspect fled in a red sedan. No weapon was displayed during the incident. The suspect is described as a black male with a gray beard, about 50 years old with a thick build. He was wearing black shorts, a black tank top and a black cap.
