The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to identify and locate two shoplifters. Between 2:20 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, two females worked together to steal more than $1,000 worth of sunglasses from Sunglass Hut at Chesterfield Towne Center. One woman pulled the frames from the display and handed them to the second woman, who concealed them in her purse. Both suspects were white females, one with a very unique appearance. Deputies with the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office can now be spotted County-wide in new dark-blue uniforms. The Sheriff’s Office recently made the switch from the traditional tan-and-brown uniforms to dark-blue ones featuring a light blue stripe. Sheriff Karl Leonard sought to develop a new uniform that would enable the Sheriff’s Office to stand out from among other agencies in the region and the state, while enhancing a sense of identity, professionalism and pride among the deputies. Chesterfield County is serious about keeping kids safe. Officials with the county, the Chesterfield County Police Department and Chesterfield County Public Schools have launched an intensive campaign to get the message out to drivers that illegally passing stopped school buses with red lights flashing is not only dangerous, it could result in a ticket. Drivers must stop for any school bus that is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop arm no matter from what direction they approach on a public highway or road, private road or school driveway. Crime Solvers needs your help to solve a robbery. On May 22, 2015, at approximately 8:40 p.m., an employee of Bogie’s Inc. entered Extra Space Storage at 7000 Hull Street Rd. Once inside the facility, the worker began to head toward one of the storage units. Upon approaching it, he was confronted by two males who had their hands in their pockets as if they had guns.
